About Prestige Car Wash
Located at 49 School St, Watertown, MA 02472, Prestige Car Wash operates as a car wash serving Watertown in Massachusetts. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under car detailing service, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.
Car washes in the United States come in four main formats: the express tunnel, where you stay in the car while a conveyor pulls it through brushes or high-pressure jets; the full-service wash, where attendants vacuum and wipe down the interior after the tunnel; the self-service bay with a coin or card-operated pressure wand, foam brush and vacuums; and the hand wash, where a crew washes and dries the car by hand. Touchless tunnels skip the cloth brushes entirely and rely on chemicals and water pressure, which is gentler on paint but less effective on heavy grime. Most express chains sell an unlimited monthly plan, usually priced at two to three single washes, that is only worth it if you wash more than twice a month. Gas stations often bundle a discounted wash with a fill-up.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 7 am–8 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Watertown is in Massachusetts, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Watertown peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Any and all of there locations are subject to be closed at any given time. It’s 5pm on a Thursday and their main bay is closed. Why? Their touchless service only has one of the two bays open, so it’s a minimum hour wait. Last summer I drove to two different locations just to find that they both were closed during prime business hours. I have a monthly subscription and this has happened to me several times.

I seriously wish I could give zero stars. Slowest service ever. Waited in line over 20 mins. The man tried to sell me a monthly package, kept at it - I told him no thanks you multiple times. I went through the car wash and it made next to no different. For 20$ you’d expect at least the dirt and bugs to be somewhat minimized - not here. The vacuums were also broken (I tried one on the left and right of where I parked and neither worked). The WORST part was that during my wash the person behind me started honking excessively. My car in neutral shows the front and rear camera and I was able to recognize that the guy was literally about to rear at me in the car wash. If it weren’t for the person trying to sell me the membership excessively, there would have been another car right in front of me. I put my car into drive and literally drove out of the car wash with my car still with soap and water (I hadn’t even reached the jets yet). I will NEVER return here and don’t recommend them.

The touchless car wash is terrible. I got the membership because I get my car washed a decent amount but the dryer on the touchless barely works, the water and soap pressure is inadequate, and the wash continuously drops water and soap on the car AFTER the wash is completed. This left my car with purple soap marks after the car wash. Unbelievable

The first time I went to get my car washed, no one came when I pressed the Help button so I had to pay even though I had a membership! I went 2x and the machine doesn't get all the dirt off of my car nor does it dry the car at all. Now add in that I have to supply my own towels when I shouldnt even need them? NO WAY.
